AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR (AED) TRAINING

Every year more than 480,000 adult Americans die of a heart attack or its complication. Approximately half of these deaths result from sudden cardiac arrest resulting from the heart attack - that's 700 deaths each day!

Ventricular fibrillation (VF) is the most common cause of cardiac arrest. Defibrillation is the only known therapy for VF. For every minute that passes without defibrillation, a victim's chances of survival decrease by 7 - 10%. Traditionally, the ability to defibrillate was solely in the hands of emergency medical personnel. Therefore, survival depended on prompt arrival and treatment.

Automated External Defibrillation (AED) is a computerized device that evaluates the victims heart rhythm then delivers an electric shock or defibrillation when needed. AEDs are inexpensive, accurate, easy to operate and can be used effectively with minimal training.

Many organizations have placed AEDs in the workplace. Employees must be taught how to use these devices. This training is simple and is taught in conjunction with CPR skills.

Our experienced instructors are available to will help your team master the use of AEDs and to establish protocols and procedures.
